Top 10 CPA Board Exam Passers( October 2008)

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) on Monday announced that 2,442 out of 6,663 examinees passed the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Licensure Examination given out by the Board of Accountancy this October.

The CPA licensure examinations were held in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo and Legazpi, and the results were released in one day after the last day of examination, the PRC said in a statement.

Richie Jackson Padilla from the University of Saint Louis-Tuguegarao topped the examination, with a rating of 92.71 percent.

The examinees who garnered the ten highest places are the following:

PRC said that registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration will start on Monday, October 27, but not later than November 19, 2008.

Those who will register are required to bring the following:

1. Duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyunal
2. Current Community Tax Certificate (cedula)
3. Two pieces passport-sized picture (colored with white background and complete nametag)
4. Two pieces 1" x 1" picture (colored with white background and complete nametag)
5. Two sets of metered documentary stamps
6. One short brown envelope with name and profession

Those who will register will also have to pay the initial registration fee of P600 and annual registration fee of P450 for 2008-2011.

Successful examinees should personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals.

The oathtaking ceremony of the successful examinees, as well as for previous successful examinees who have not yet taken their Oath of Professional, will be held before the Board on Monday, November 24, 2008 at 1 p.m. at the Plenary Hall of the Philippine International Convention Center, Manila.

Registration for Membership with the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Inc. will start on Monday, October 27.
